Carving Wood Spirits & Green Men

-  Find the spirit within the wood and the face within the leaves. Ancient cultures in their attempt to understand the world around them would give human features and emotions to the forces of nature. During this class we will explore the fascinating history behind the Green man as well as allow each student to carve their own Wood Spirit or Green Man.

Some basic woodcarving skills required.

Carousel Horse carving

- The first portion of this multiple class project will be carving the head of a 1/3 size carousel horse.

Basic wood carving skills are required.
